    Buddy, easy fix. Find the eprom or flash chip on the inverter, dump the chip from the good inverter using a clip-on and flush it to the broken one. After get a tool from watts247 to change the serial number, end of story. Use flashrom on RPi it works awesome! Godspeed!

    I'm so thankful that you mention the security of the WiFi dongle-router connection. I'm just getting around to installing a pair of 6000xps. I asked tech support by phone about security...having my home router exposed to everyone....and was told in a round about way..."no one seems concerned about that" and "no, there is no way to encrypt or lock out tech support from checking into my system anytime they feel like it....? I likely would/will remove the dongles after setup and just live without the data available for me by phone or pc. Currently all I watch on my older off grid system is bluetooth data from a Victron shunt. Do I really need more data available with the 6000XP? Why can't EG4 provide bluetooth data versus out to the cloud/world data? Is EG4 mining data from our EG4 installations?

    Many thanks for this video. There are a ton of sellers on Ebay obviously selling counterfeit batteries while claiming they are Genuine OEM Dell batteries. They all have the same obvious flaw. The serial number QR code is missing, and the lettering next to the Dell Logo is Blue on the counterfeit batteries, while it is Grey on the Genuine OEM batteries, just like your video shows. In fact, the counterfeits all get this detail wrong, so Blue Text next to the Dell logo is literally a giant sign saying I AM FAKE...

    A word of warning. In my experience that CPT branded buck or boost power supply in the bottom of the cabinet sooner or later will fail and take what ever is plugged into it out too if it's a buck. I've had it happen personally and also to a friend that used them. If they must be used over voltage protection is a must, crowbar or the like.

    I have a question about the inverter behavior when VOC goes above 250V at colder temp. My system will have 5 Canadian Solar panels ( CS6W-550MB-AG ) they have STC VOC of 49.6V and NMOT VOC of 46.9V. They will be installed in a tropical location in Central America where the lowest recorded temp is 15C ( about 59F) and the STC VOC calc for the string at this temp will be 254V. My questions: - What happens when the VOC goes over the 250V? - Does the system puts the error code exactly at 250 or before that? - Does the system resumes normal operation once the voltage goes below 250 automatically or do you have to manually reset it?

    I thought I'd share my initial test. We needed a bigger bank and for my 2nd go I really wanted BT so I could set the BMS parameters and monitor the status (I'm a Tech and not knowing drove me nuts) and have accessibility for maintenance. I received mine at the beginning of June and swapped out my 200ah Chins in my RV. I did not utilize my shunt as I'm going to rely on the BMS (Chins didn't have BT). Out of the box I put a 230a load on it for 20 minutes with no issue. I finished draining it at 150a until my inverter shutoff at 10.5v. The BMS showed the battery at 0% (I think the BMS uses voltage based reading until it completes a cycle, then coulomb counts). I then lowered draw to 45a until the inverter shutoff at again at 10.5v. At this point I drew 5a until I hit 11v (2.75v cell) at rest. I can't imagine needing to draw this monster below 11v so I consider this 0% capacity and set the BMS battery capacity at 500AH to give the parameters some headroom for testing and turned on balance only when charging so it wouldn't bleed off balancing once charger stopped. I charged at 80a (Fluke meter read 79.7a at cable in) and the BMS started counting AH. In the morning the charger had shutoff, at rest the voltage was 13.83v and the battery was at 100% or 500AH. I was pleasantly surprised and didn't take screenshot of the remainder as this was all well into bonus territory. I restarted the charger and I think it started charging at 40ish amps and over about 30 minutes slowly dropped to 0a at 14.2v (3.55v cell). I would guesstimate an addition 10 to 15ah. After the season I might bump up the capacity in the BMS to 525ah and do another cycle test but for now I couldn't be happier and this Vatrer 460ah was well worth the purchase. My 200ah Chins out of the box also exceeded it's 200ah capacity about 7%. Moving from 6v GC battery bank, over 3 years the Chins battery exceeded my expectations and made me a believer, Lifepo4 is a game changer in an RV. Having said that, 500+ah is amazing and have all the features I realized I really wanted. Hope this helps anyone considering.

    Thank you for posting, I’m trying to find out if these inverters require each string of pv to be paralleled into each inverter? Electrician in me seems to think that this makes sense but obviously only 2 moots per inverter and you have 3 strings so this wouldn’t work. Looks like you just brought your first two strings into one and the third string into the second. Secondly, if you only had two strings and 3 inverters would this mean one inverter doesn’t get any solar input? Hope this question makes sense.

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar 7 днів тому

      With 2 inverters, you have 4 unique MPPT chargers. You do not need to connect the same solar string to two inverters. In fact, that would completely mess up the MPPT algorithm. You also do not need to have a solar input at all, so 3 inverters with solar panels on 1 and 2 but not on 3 would be perfectly fine as well.

      Thank you so much for this reply, you can tell I’m a solar rookie. It looks like with the batteries you do indeed hook them up in parallel tho? So you bring a feeder from each inverter to the combined battery buscar?

    There is a 300ah model. It would be nice to evaluate it when there is a chance. Thank You

    Come back a year from now and let us know if these low cost (cheap) transformerless inverters are still working.

    Great review, That wireless dongle is a huge security flaw without a password, is there a way to enable password? (I don't see why they don't sell a dongle that combines switchable secure encrypted wireless and wired LAN combo), and would like to see the MPPT voltage minimum dropped to v48 or lower).

    Looks nice and neat. I did similar with a 6x6 wire way and was able to use most of the provided knockouts, but I did make the battery one a bit larger just so they lined up with the nuts inside the inverter better. Think I punched it to 2”. I did want to ask about grounding. I have family licensed electricians. He told be to add a common ground bar inside the 6x6 wire way and then have all the devices connect to that common ground. His expectation was not to rely on the conduit between the inverter and wireway for grounding connection, this ensures the wireway is grounded to a mechanically connected set of screws, just like in a electrical panel. I think since this is smaller gauge wire vs larger wire there are grounding allowances in the code book, but that’s how I did it. Common ground bus mounted inside wireway back to electrical panel then inverter, batteries, and a victron charge controller I use for testing all run back to that common ground bar inside the wireway.

    Great video, one note, the fans of the first inverter will end up blowing hot into the intake of the other inverter.

      Logic would suggest this; however, the manual states they can be placed a minimum of 7.9 inches apart and mine are further. Perhaps I can put a piece of hvac duct metal bent at a 45 angle to direct some of the air outward instead of directly in to the next unit.

    Been waiting on this one! And you aren't wrong about the internet connected device craze. It's not useful in many cases, and it's always a security risk. I would much rather have my own subnet connected through a router that doesn't allow incoming connections at all than have the "convenience" of easily connected devices. The Internet of Things should be managed by offline modules you can choose to update over your own network but never communicates beyond your home network without permission and absolute necessity. Household appliance manufacturers are no more ready for harmful code injection than your nearest great grandmother is on her iPhone. There are way too many unknown faults that could cause real world harm.

      That would best be answered by an electrician, which I am not.

    Looking great, however the open wireless would be a deal breaker for me. There are libraries for WPA2 and 3 encryption, it's not as if they'll have to write this code from scratch and skimping on this is quite a bad look. I would push them hard to address this vulnerability.
